Esports Competition Terms and Conditions
BFBS Esports
These terms and conditions (Entry Rules) apply to all esports competitions, leagues and tournaments staged or hosted by BFBS (Competitions).
By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Entry Rules, the BFBS Code of Conduct and the BFBS Privacy Policy.
Entry
Competitions are only open to members of `the UK armed forces community, meaning personnel currently serving in the UK armed forces and their direct family members, Reservists, Veterans, MOD Civil Servants, MOD TLB Civil Servants, Cadets, and directly bereaved family members (Entrants).You must be at least 13 years of age at the time of registration for entry. Anyone aged between 13 - 18 (Minors) must get permission to take part from a parent or their legal guardian.
Only one entry per person allowed and you must follow all entry requirements notified to you including any deadlines for entry.
Competitions are not open to:
- (anyone without a connection to the UK armed forces as set out above
- (any employee of BFBS (or any of its affiliates), or any member of their family; or
- (anyone professionally connected in any way with any Competition.
Entrants will be required to verify their status as members of the UK armed forces community and anyone who fails to do so will be disqualified from the Competition and shall not be entitled to any prizes. To the extent any prizes are won prior to any failure to provide the required verification, such prizes shall be returned immediately.
Any late, inaccurate, incomplete or invalid entries will be automatically disqualified.
Serving personnel taking part as a uniformed member of the armed forces will be unable to accept our prizes as per MOD policy. They can enter and play in their own personal time.
Prizes
[The BFBS League will award the following prizes based on the following criteria:
Qualifiers: first place £125, second place: £50
Main Event: first place: £4,000, second place: £2,200, third & fourth place: £1,150, fifth & sixth place: £500, seventh & eights place: £250.
Any prize awarded is not transferable.
If a team drops out of a Competition or otherwise fails to attend or compete (as applicable) in accordance with these Entry Rules and is within the prize placings, then that team will forfeit any prize as well as their place within the Competition.
Currently serving personnel agree that they are either entering as serving personnel, in which case they will not be eligible to receive prize money as per MOD policy, or are entering as individuals in their own time.
In-person Final
If you advance to the in-person final, which requires your attendance in person, you shall be responsible for arranging and paying for your own travel and accommodation.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or their legal guardian.
Use of name and image
By entering a Competition you acknowledge and agree that you may appear in live streams and in images or footage relating to the Competition, both during and after the Competition, on a worldwide, royalty-free basis in perpetuity.
You also consent to BFBS using your name, image and likeness for promotional purposes.
Winners names and photos may be published.
Third Parties
If a Competition is held in conjunction with any third party (including any game publisher, website or platform) or requires any third party approval or support, additional rules of such third party may apply and you agree to comply fully with all such rules.
BFBS shall not be responsible for any loss that may arise from involvement of any third party in the staging of any Competition.
Limitation of Liability
BFBS shall only be responsible for using reasonable endeavours to ensure that any Competition is staged by BFBS in accordance with all applicable laws.
Other than as expressly stated above, or for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, BFBS shall have no responsibility for safeguarding participants, nor any liability for any loss suffered by any participants.
BFBS provides no representation, warranty or undertaking as to the proper operation or uninterrupted service of any game featured in a Competition or any underlying website or platform and BFBS shall have no responsibility for any errors, delays or failures that occur during any Competition.
Security and Confidentiality
You must adhere to all OPSEC / PERSEC best practice as set out in JSP 440 and abide by the Official Secrets Act at all times.
Under no circumstances shall you share or disclose sensitive, protected or confidential material before, during or after or in any way in connection with any Competition or otherwise on any BFBS platforms.
Integrity of competition
Any player found to be drunk or under the influence of drugs will be disqualified along with the team that they compete for.
Any player found to be promoting or arranging collusion, match fixing, throwing, cheating, hacking or any other form of unfair play will be immediately disqualified from the Competition along with the team they compete for.
Players shall not engage, within Competition and/or in any promotion of the players participation in the Competition (including social media), in harassing or disrespectful conduct, use of abusive or offensive language, game abandonment, game sabotage, spamming, social engineering or make any comments or behave in such a manner that would be defamatory or derogatory to BFBS. Where a player is found to have engaged in such behaviour, the player will be disqualified from participating in any and all future Competitions.
Cross Event Bans - If other Tournament Operators have banned players, then we may review each of the cases they present and mirror such bans. If Tournament Operator has banned player, then we will include that player or team on our ban list.
All players must abide by the BFBS Code of Conduct and these Competition Rules when taking part in any Competition, to be provided to each player at the start of each tournament.
BFBS reserves the right to remove or disqualify individual players or teams from Competition for any reason and at any time in its sole discretion.
Rocket League Competitions
For Rocket League Competitions, you acknowledge that the Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Psyonix LLC and any information you provide in connection with the Competition is provided to BFBS and not to Psyonix LLC. By participating in a Rocket League Competition, to the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release and hold harmless Psyonix LLC, its parent company, licensors, it’s and their affiliates, and it’s and their employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors, and other representatives from all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities and expenses related to the Competition.
Data Processing
BFBS shall process your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and our privacy policy here.

General
These Entry Rules are subject to change and you should check back to ensure that you are aware of the latest Entry Rules in respect of the Competition you are entering.
BFBS reserves the right to alter, amend, cancel, postpone, abandon or withdraw any Competition at any time for any reason. All decisions of BFBS are final.
If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, BFBS, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to exclude you from participating in any Competition.
BFBS reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so in its sole discretion.
You hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BFBS and each of its officers, agents and employees from any and all responsibility or liability arising out of or in connection with your breach of these Entry Rules and any Code of Conduct or other guidelines, policies or terms provided by BFBS.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in relation to any Competition or these Terms and Conditions
