Posted at 20/10/2026 - 11:06

A reflection on Season 2 of the BFBS Pro League: the changes, the chapters and our champions.

BFBS Pro League Season 2

Over 200 members of the UK Armed Forces Community clashed in our tournament events across F1 25, League of Legends and Rocket League competitions. A record 1,500+ total registrations saw returning faces from Season 1, with many fresh talents put under the spotlight for the 2026 season.

We’re proud to have given serving personnel and Veterans (and their direct family, including spouses, parents, children and siblings), Reservists, Cadets and MOD Civil Servants a platform to play on and develop their skills, in and out of the game.

Our thanks go to Wifinity, who supported Season 2 of the Pro League throughout the 2026 online season, and Valarian who supported our Grand Finals event, as official sponsors.

F1 25

We kicked off Season 2 with our first venture into Sim Racing: F1 25. Tracks were voted on by the BFBS Esports community, before 37 registered drivers battled it out across 8 weeks of intense racing.

The season was dominated by British Army Esports driver “Phoenix”, who stunned by claiming victory in every race he took part in, bar one, finishing with 166 Championship Points. “Proven54” (132 points) and “Adam Thompson” (92 points) rounded out our hotly contested podium positions. Through this championship, we were particularly proud to showcase such a diverse grid of drivers from all corners of the UK Armed Forces community, from first-time racers to seasoned veterans.

Live action was enjoyed thanks to our talented commentary team, including civilian Sim Racing commentators “TheyCallMeTK” and “Poundland”, alongside fan favourite UK Armed Forces talents, “Jack Lemmon MD” and “Daromas”. Additional thanks go to CTRL Esports for supporting many of our live productions.

League of Legends

League of Legends, having been first released over 15 years ago, remains an Esports staple within the UK Armed Forces community. BFBS were proud to support and grow this established community, with multiple stages of competition to challenge players of all abilities.

All 3 single services represented themselves in our League of Legends competition, alongside 1 UK Veterans Gaming team and several tri-service teams.

The mixed, tri-service “Real Humans” roster topped our Group Qualifier and Division Play stages, with only a single loss to their name. The only team to defeat the Real Humans and provide a shock win to crown themselves Champions, was the British Army Esports “LIONS”. This passionate team grew from strength to strength, going the extra mile to learn and develop through the regular season, in part due to remarkable in-person coaching opportunities.

Legendary civilian League of Legends commentators “Middlecott” and “Roodood” covered the live action, with special thanks to our producers, “Tangerine” and “GeneralCarrot”.

Rocket League

Our thrilling flagship title for Season 2, continuing the story from Season 1, was none other than Rocket League. Over 21 tri-service teams competed, including 9 from the RAF, 6 from the Army, 4 from the Navy, 1 team of Veterans and 1 mixed MOD Civil Service and Military family team.

This season, we more than doubled tri-service representation taking part across all stages of Rocket League competition. The sheer number of interested players helped BFBS to introduce a Swiss Stage to UK Armed Forces community competition for the very first time. This fan-favourite format pitched teams with matching win records against each other, to create thrilling and close competition, in a way that was simply not possible in Season 1.

The online season was delivered by civilian commentators “SirPigasus”, “DannyBoyATM” and "Psycho", alongside RAF high-performing athlete and Co-IC of the RAF Rocket League community, “Stelios”.

The stars of the regular season included the newly formed BAES Buzzards, starring ex-FC Barcelona Rocket League player “Bluey”, competing alongside the brilliant “Onza” and “Wuck”. Claiming 2 playoff wins, they were beaten only by the Welsh esports organization, the S.E.A. Dragons, who picked up a mixed team, including the fearsome Grand Finalists from Season 1, “Lyon” and “Ritzy”, with the newly acquired “MRSpud777”.

The online season ended with a Tiebreaker that came down to the wire between the BAES Buzzards and S.E.A. Dragons, who were level on points after 8 weeks of competition. The S.E.A. Dragons emerged victorious after a thrilling Game 7.

BFBS Valarian Pro League Season 2 - Grand Finals

This landmark event saw the 8 highest performing Rocket League teams from the online season compete under the brightest of spotlights, live on stage at the RAF Museum in London.

Valarian, an AI company that builds secure infrastructure for organisations operating in high-consequence environments, with a team bringing experience from Defence, national security, and technology were the Headline Sponsor for this stunning event.

BFBS worked tirelessly alongside EpicLAN to develop a thrilling stage front and infrastructure to house the largest event that BFBS Esports has undertaken to date. The results were staggering.

Hundreds of UK Armed Forces personnel, Friends and Family, Cadets, and Esports fans, visited the RAF Museum to tune into the live action, through our bespoke built 200+ seater Arena and the RAF Theatre. Thousands more tuned in via Twitch and YouTube to watch as the Welsh S.E.A. Dragons were crowned Season 2 champions.

On-the-day activities were supported with the inclusion of HADO, tri-service and cadet engagement and STEM opportunities. We’re massively thankful for the British Army Rifles Band and RAF Cadet Bands who provided incredible musical entertainment throughout much of the day.
