The BFBS Esports team heads down to Birmingham for DreamHack 2026 to support the UKAF Esports community.

What is DreamHack?

DreamHack is a world-renowned gaming & Esports event, that started in Sweden as early as the mid 90's. Since then, it has evolved into a cultural phenomenon, attracting gamers, creators, all things pop culture and Esports competition. It’s finally reached closer to home, with its first UK event since conception held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

An opportunity to connect

DreamHack Birmingham 2026 had a huge UKAF Community presence, including Esports representatives from the Royal Navy, British Army and British Esports, who will be hosts to IDEG (International Defence Esports Games) later this year.

The BFBS Esports team partnered up with British Esports to provide Rocket League coaching sessions, which soon developed into some intense 1v1 and 2v2 action, including well-loved UK Armed Forces Community Rocket League players Dylza, Cedric and F3zzy.

Major competition: New and old

DreamHack doesn't come without its fair share of electric competition. This year, there were some huge Tier 1 events across a variety of Esports genres. These are only some of the highlights!

- ESL One (Tier 1 DOTA competition)
- Dreamhack Open Ft. Halo
- CDL Major II
- COD Warzone Resurgence Series
- F1 Sim Racing World Championship 2026

Team HSK

Team HSK were one of many grassroots UK Esports organisations to field a team for DreamHack's Open Ft. Halo. Co-founded by AS1 Edward "Cedric" Nussey-Waite, this organisation also competes at the top level in the Rocket League Championship Series, with Cedric as Coach. In the UKAF sphere, Cedric is known for his commitment to developing the RAF Stormshadows community, as Co-IC of their Rocket League community. His influence across UK Armed Forces Esports is unmistakable and continues to inspire.
